First designed in 1983 from an old Holden bumper bar, Bumpa-Bar lures have evolved to be one of the most versatile lures in the world!
Rigged with either Trebles or Assist Hooks (coming soon) they can be fished in a variety of ways to suit almost all fishing situations.
The smaller sizes can be fished like a soft plastic especially with assist hooks. Cast them out and let them flutter down to the bottom. So many times predatory fish will smash them on the drop as the flutter on these lures is incredibly enticing to feeding fish. If the lure reaches the bottom give it two big hops off the bottom and allow it to flutter back down again and repeat the process. This method is deadly on species like Mulloway, Snapper, Finger Mark, Bream, Flathead and many more. Remember to strike if you see that tick in your line as it flutters down.
The lures rigged with trebles can be vertically jigged, trolled plus ‘cast & retrieved’. The mid sizes are ideal for Tailor and Salmon for example, while the bigger profiles are especially good slow-trolling for large pelagic fish like Spanish Mackerel and Wahoo.
Remember, because of the unbelievable action of these lures you can fish them at a slow pace, medium or fast. Its a good idea to experiment and find what works for you on any given day.
